Photo book layout based on my senior thesis installation, designed on InDesign, printed book maquettes bound with hand-sewn red thread, 8.5 x 5.5 in.
1,296 American visa ID photos edited on photoshop to spell out my Chinese name in English letters and Chinese characters, select photos from 60 edited and glitched photos of personal family archives, found images of ghost ships from the internet, online archives of Chinese adoption to the U.S., and the UC Berkeley Ethnic Studies Library archives including the Asian American Studies Newspaper Clippings (Adoption - A1 Transracial), Finding Aid to the Him Mark Lai Papers (AAS ARC 2000/80, Ctn. 1:9 Adoption from China, n.d. and AAS ARC 2010/1, Ctn. 1:7 Adoptions from China 2004-2007).
