Clay, low fire clear glaze, underglaze, silk fabric, ribbon, glue. Clay body: 22” (L) x 8” (W) x 11” (H) inches. Documentation on film (installed) and digital (deconstructed).
Chair Renovation (2023)
Printed photos of old family photos, photos I took, photos my mom took, and found images from the Internet, Mod Podge, acrylic paint, a wooden chair, dimensions unknown. An orchid, a found postcard, a gifted white tea from China, a childhood object for the French tooth fairy mouse, a necklace, a shell, a souvenir, half of a friendship necklace, and my mom’s dress on the chair.

Candle holders made of reclaimed clay, red and black underglaze, and clear glaze.
I invited people to light a candle for each person, eight candle holders, nine candles. The handles are pieces of clay I squeezed in my hand. Their names are Xiaojie “Emily” Tan, 49, Daoyou Feng, 44, Delaina Yaun, 33, Paul Michels, 54, Yong Ae Yue, 63, Soon Chung Park, 74, Suncha Kim, 69, and Hyun Jung Grant, 51, and Elcias Hernandez-Ortiz, who was injured.
