My studio desk felt incomplete until I added a bowl of infinite mandarins. In November and December, mandarins were my main source of sustenance, and my vitamin C levels were off the charts. I loved the collection of orange peels on my desk and the joy of offering whoever walked by a mandarin.

I was selected for the Fall ‘24 Advanced Studio and Critique Program (ASCP) at UC Berkeley, formerly the Honors Program. Nine students are each given a studio for the semester and have a show at the Worth Ryder Art Gallery. Our show Multiple Transparencies featured new and ambitious work we accomplished in less than two months. This program was the highlight of my experience at Berkeley, and I could not have asked for a more supportive, collaborative, inspiring, and creative cohort, community, and found family.
